How Saudi Arabia visas work
UAE residence visas come in several flavours. Most expats start with an employment visa, sponsored and paid for by the employer (medical, Kingdom ID, stamping, insurance, entry permit). Family members come on dependent visas, sponsored by the resident, with a similar fee structure per person.
The Premium Residency offers renewable residency at SAR 100,000 per year, permanent residency at SAR 800,000 one-time, or category permits from SAR 4,000 for talents, investors and entrepreneurs. Self-employment. Freelancers register a freelance work document with the MHRSD; no free-zone licence is required in Saudi Arabia.
An expat employee plus spouse and one child cost roughly: employment visa SAR 2,970 (employer pays) + 2 dependent visas at SAR 2,150 each = a household visa bill of SAR 7,270, plus property and tenancy fees on top.
